Congratulations go to Imogen Heap who, ahead of the MPG (Music Producers Guild) Awards tomorrow night, has been announced as the recipient of their 2018 Inspiration Award. Imogen is a recording artist, songwriter, producer and Grammy Award winning recording engineer. She has also won a Ivor Novello Award for songwriting.
The Inspiration Award, sponsored by Audio Note and selected by the MPG board of directors, recognises that Imogen Heap is responsible for a body of work that has significantly inspired others. She is also the only female artist to have won a Grammy for engineering.
Other achievements have included a number of internationally successful albums as a recording solo artist, composition and original scores for feature films and music for west-end play, Harry Potter And The Cursed Child.
Imogen has also designed and produced mi.mu musical gloves that combine unique gestural vocabulary, motion data-capture systems and user interfaces allowing her to sculpt and manipulate sound on stage as she performs computer-based digital creations.
