Electro-pop duo HUMAN have released their debut single The Ground – a haunting, mesmeric track exploring themes of hitting rock bottom, only to rise up again stronger than before.
Moody, swelling synths swim menacingly underneath the pair’s intricately crafted vocal harmonies. I found the accompanying music video eerie and hypnotic; HUMAN portray themselves as being overwhelmed by technology, only able to connect through their voices and carefully choreographed movements.
HUMAN are supporting Lyla Foy at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on 4 October.
